In honor of Strawberry Festival.
We are so looking forward to hosting a summer meal in the apple orchard to help kick off Vashon Island’s Strawberry Festival! Dragon’s Head Cider, a Vashon Island staple, is home to more than 70 different varieties of traditional cider apple and perry pear trees. All of their cider making is right on the farm, including pressing the apples, fermenting the juice, blending the ciders, and bottling.
We invite you to join us at a long table flanking the rows of fruiting apple trees in the height of their summer glory. Our menu will focus on Vashon grown vegetables, the bounty of summer produce, and of course the mighty Strawberry.
You’ll have the opportunity to taste four different beverages from Dragon’s Head and enjoy how they pair with our menu!
A tentative menu paired with Dragon’s Head Cider:
-Smoked black cod on rye with dill cream and radish
-Local cheese with strawberry on a black pepper cracker
-Heirloom tomato carpaccio with beet puree and anise hyssop
-Green Beans with charred onion dressing, sheep’s milk feta, tarragon and slivered almond breadcrumbs
-Tender greens with cucumber, snap peas, strawberry vinaigrette
-Grilled bread and butter
-Cedar planked salmon with grilled potatoes, roasted peppers, andsage brown butter
-Apple and strawberry galette with whipped cream
