September 2nd - Dinner in an Apple Orchard at Dragon's Head Cider

Dragon’s Head Cider, Vashon Island

We are so looking forward to hosting a meal in the apple orchard as part of our Labor Day events series on Vashon Island. Dragon’s Head Cider, a Vashon Island staple, is home to more than 70 different varieties of traditional cider apple and perry pear trees. All of their cider making is right on the farm, including pressing the apples, fermenting the juice, blending the ciders, and bottling.

We invite you to join us at a long table flanking the rows of fruiting apple trees just weeks before their harvest. Our menu will focus on Vashon grown vegetables and of course, the all mighty apple.

You’ll have the opportunity to taste four different beverages from Dragon’s Head and enjoy how they pair with our menu!

Our Menu:
Sesame nigella crackers with smoked eggplant cream and rosemary plums

Anchovy toasts with parsley butter

Leeks “a la wedge”

Tomato Slices with lobster mushrooms, tarragon and kombu

*

Cornbread with camembert style cheese and seeded honey

*

Roasted kuri squash with apples, ginger vinaigrette, and hazelnut

*

Spiced Duck Breast with frisee, grilled Jimmy Nardello peppers, and apple mostarda

*

Buckwheat crepes with cardamom caramel, figs, walnuts and apples
